A new agreement was signed between Dorna Sports and the Uttar Pradesh government’s Invest UP. The agreement brings back the MotoGP Grand Prix to India in 2025. Additionally, an assurance of hosting the event annually at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida from 2025 to 2027 has also been made.

Indian Contract for Three Years Secured for MotoGP

The deal guarantees MotoGP will be featured here at least in the next three years, with races scheduled until 2027. The Indian Grand Prix will return to the Buddh International Circuit in March 2025. This is going to be a further push toward increased popularity for both MotoGP and India’s motorcycle industry, following an inaugural race in 2023.

Handling Challenges of 2023 Indian Grand Prix

The 2023 Indian Grand Prix was an action-packed affair, as all riders praised the new Buddh International Circuit surface. Incidentally, it turned out to be a challenging race as it falls in September. During this time the Delhi-NCR region is simply broiler hot. Several race marshals collapsed due to heatstroke, while the main race had to be shortened. The extreme heat even made Jorge Martin unzip his suit on the final lap of the race to conserve water from evaporating.

Official Commentaries on the New Convention

A monumental deal. The agreement will give MotoGP not only to Uttar Pradesh but also enhance our status on the world map of sports. It shall trigger phenomenal growth in tourism, hospitality, and all the allied sectors and attract visitors across the globe, said Manoj Kumar Singh, Chief Secretary-cum-Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh.

We are extremely pleased to be announcing this new deal directly with the government of Uttar Pradesh. The inaugural Indian Grand Prix was a massive success. It presented an immense amount of value to both MotoGP and our host region of UP. So it’s fantastic that we can continue building that together going forward. India is an important market for MotoGP. As it has a healthy, well-established audience for the racing and one we can grow exponentially. Additionally, there are hundreds of millions of two-wheeled vehicles in use throughout the country every day. Therefore, making it strategically important for our manufacturers and for the sport itself as MotoGP remains the pinnacle of two wheels.
