Close to a decade since it last tried its luck with the coupe SUV, Tata Motors has come yet again knocking at the door with the eagerly-awaited Tata Curvv Coupe SUV, which is attractively priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Tamil Nadu-based carmaker Tata Motors is once again standing on the back of Citroen Basalt—a recent launch in the country—within the mass-market coupe SUV space. Built on the proven foundation of the Tata Nexon, Curvv merges trendsetting design with advanced features and robust performance to be the unbeatable choice for Indian customers.

STRIKING DESIGN AND DIMENSIONS

Curvv Coupe SUV is sure to turn heads immediately with its strong and futuristic designed look. Curvv is a long car, with dimensions including length at 4,308 mm, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,630 mm in height. Wheelbase has been stretched to 2,560 mm, and the boot space clocks in at 500 liters. The front fascia of Curvv is absolutely in sync with its sibling, Tata Nexon, an all-LED light bar stretched across full width, and a split headlamp setup. Yet, it was those distinctive touches, such as metallic embroidery on the grille and a distinctive latticed parametric pattern on the lower bumper, that make the Curvv stand out.

But the side profile of the Curvv is every bit as striking, with flush door handles, rising waistline, which adds to its chiseled stance, and a more sloping roofline that evens into the tailgate, which has accommodated a rear full-width LED light bar, thereby enhancing its modern stance. Added to this is the rugged black cladding along the bottom edge.

Inside, there is nothing but what one would come to expect from the Curvv. It boasts a sculpted design language reminiscent of the Nexon but far more refined. There’s a premium leatherette finish on the dashboard, along with trapezoidal AC vents and the free-standing touchscreen infotainment system for this cabin. The four-spoke steering wheel, which comes absolutely like Tata Harrier adds up to enhance the luxury feel in the cabin.

ADVANCED FEATURES FOR A MODERN EXPERIENCE

Tata Motors has equipped the Curvv with a suite of advanced features designed to enhance comfort, convenience, and safety. Notable highlights include:

  • 12.3-inch Touchscreen Infotainment System
  • 10.25-inch Digital Instrument Cluster
  • Panoramic Sunroof
  • Ventilated Front Seats
  • 6-Way Powered Driver Seat
  • 9-Speaker JBL Sound System
  • Powered Tailgate with Gesture Control
  • Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)

Safety is paramount in the Curvv, with six airbags as standard, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), disc brakes on all four wheels, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, ensuring a secure and confident driving experience.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION OPTIONS

The Tata Curvv offers three engine options, two of which are carried over from the Nexon:

  • 1.2-litre Turbo Petrol Engine: Produces 120 PS and 170 Nm of torque.
  • 1.5-litre Turbo Diesel Engine: Delivers 118 PS and 260 Nm of torque.
  • 1.2-litre TGDI Petrol Engine (Hyperion): An all-new engine producing 125 PS and 225 Nm of torque.

Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCA) transmission. Notably, the Tata Curvv is the only car in India offering a dual-clutch automatic transmission paired with a diesel engine, distinguishing it from competitors.
